Victoria Beckham And Rolex Cellini Orchid; Absolutely Amazing

Rolex Cellini OrchidRolex is a name that is synonymous with style and status. When the journey of Rolex started almost a century ago no one would have imagined that a day would come when it would reach the pinnacle of glory and sit comfortably right at the top. But this did happen and it went beyond. It was not an easy task to do and the journey was anything but easy. In fact all along the path Rolex kept coming out with ideas and innovations that startled the world. Most of the features that we take for granted in the watches were at one point of time not a part of the watches. It goes to the credit of the Swiss watchmaker that something that started as exclusive feature of Rolex are now a part of all the watches all across the world. Rolex did the unimaginable and made it a part of the image that we have of watches now.

In its long list of unique and remarkable watches one watch that has the ability to stop many a heart beat is the Cellini Orchid. The watch with its looks, features and performance is able to stand tall even among the best of the best. It is an ideal example of the vision, philosophy, values, and everything that Rolex is known for. In fact it doesn’t come across as a surprise that Cellini Orchid is looked upon as a kind of style icon that other watchmakers try to emulate. It is an honour that Cellini Orchid shares with one of the most well known celebrities in the world, Victoria Beckham.

Victoria BeckhamVictoria Beckham is one of the most visible faces on the UK newspapers, magazines and of course web. She is a popular singer and songwriter, successful fashion designer and businesswoman and to top it all wife of David Beckham. Born on the 17th of April in 1974 in a well off business family, she always had the sparkle in her eyes. She seemed destined to the glory that is rare for all but is the most sought after nonetheless. She rose to fame in UK and all across the world when her all girls pop band Spice Girls hit the music scene. She was dubbed Posh Spice a name that did complete justice to her personality and the image that she carried. Her marriage to David Beckham and the accompanying fame didn’t come as much of a surprise for she always seemed to belong there. She has also been involved in fashion designing, writing, modelling and is an accomplished businesswoman. She has made herself one of the most impressive and loved individuals even among the elite of celebrities, a trait she shares with Cellini Orchid.

Taking a leaf out of the life of the greatest, Rolex has made Cellini Orchid a watch that goes beyond the traditional roles of a timepiece. It is a thing that defines status and class. It is something to be enjoyed and flaunted. The watch looks pretty and impressive in yellow gold and a dial that comes with white mother-or-pearl loaded with diamonds. The bezel looks beautiful with its brilliants and combined with the brilliants on the bracelet the watch is a sure shot winner. In the world of watches Cellini Orchid carries the same kind of enigma and popularity that is associated with Victoria Beckham in the world of entertainment.

Figment of History: The Rolex ‘Pall Mall’

Rolex Oyster Pall MallIngenuity has to be followed by courage and belief in order to fully realise the potentiality of an idea. Rolex a trusted and well respected name in premium watches has been around for several decades. Right from the time of its inception in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis, Rolex has continually crafted the finest quality watches with a scrupulous attention to its design and functionality. The most incredible aspect of this world class company is that it does not limit the pursuit of perfection to its own craft and supports numerous organisations around the world in realising the true potential of human triumph. Rolex traces its origins back to the streets of London when it was referred to as ‘Wilsdorf and Davis’.

During that period however Rolex had not got into full fledged, manufacturing of trademark Rolex watches and sold most of their work to jewellery store owners, who in turn sold them as their product. One of the earliest models was a gold-filled, steel Rolex oyster that was launched in around 1942-43, commonly known as ‘Pall Mall’. The etymology of the name that was given to this particular make from Rolex can be traced back to the famed ‘Pall Mall’ street in London. Located between Trafalgar Square and St. James’ Palace in the City of Westminster in London, the ‘Pall Mall’ street was known to house many gentlemen’s clubs in the 19th and the early part of the 20th century like the Reform Club, Army and Navy Club and the Royal Automobile Club. This street is still owned by the crown estate and has always been associated with class, sophistication and resilient individuals that have chosen to strive towards being the best they can be.

Pall Mall StreetThe Rolex ‘Pall Mall’ was launched only in the Canadian, British and the commonwealth markets and was aimed at the aristocracy, the nobility, gentlemen as well as high-fliers of the society. The Rolex ‘Pall Mall’ watch has an innovatively designed dial that is quite unusual in its style. This watch features a two tone black dial where the outer part tracks the seconds while the inner one tracks the minutes. The numerals that appear on the Rolex ‘Pall Mall’ are Arabic even numbers with luminescence quality while the odd hours are marked with a luminous baton. The watch has the words Rolex Oyster Pall Mall etched across the face of the dial just below the 12 hour mark and has the word Observatory imprinted below the centre point. The movement this watch utilises is a hunter 101/2 with Swiss-made main plate and 17 jewels set in brass chatons. It features a lizard strap and has been crafted with meticulous passion and aesthetic design.

The Rolex Oyster ‘Pall Mall’ is more than just a finely crafted watch and represents the aesthetic sense, the perception and the period when it was crafted. A must have collectible for avid Rolex collectors the Rolex ‘Pall Mall’ symbolises the aspects of that epoch as well as the sensibilities of the master craftsmen.

Rolex Datejust makes an impressive statement in the movie, “The Informers”

Rolex DatejustRolex which has often been dubbed as the only luxury watch brand available in the 1980’s is a brand you will instantly realise while watching a movie. The famous movie, “The Informers” which is a movie adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’s novel by the same name has several scenes where its cast members can be seen sporting Rolex watches in several scenes of the film.

The movie features several of its actors wearing the Rolex Datejust. Rolex Datejust was deemed as the ultimate luxury model in the 1980’s. One might wonder what is the expediency behind every character sporting a Rolex Datejust or a Rolex Submariner, never mind the fact that none of the character ever glances at their watches to see the time.

Well, as stated above, Rolex were and still continues to be one of the most luxurious watch brands available during the 1980’s. Rolex Datejust managed to become a revolution in itself. It was a symbol of strictly conforming to the conventions set by the aristocratic class of a particular era. The watch simply looks magnificent in the movie with enough screen space being allotted to them. The makers of the movie were clever enough to show the Rolex a number if times in their movie, so that they just can’t be missed by the viewer.

Rolex Datejust was used as an ideal tool as a lifestyle indicator of the characters in the movie. Whenever one mentions the movie, “The Informers”, the mention of Rolex is inevitable. After all, it played a tremendous role in helping the movie depict a classy and luxurious aura about itself.

Rare Rolex watch goes on sale

Exclusivity comes at a price. This is definitely proved by the famous luxury watch brand, Rolex. Every Rolex watch produced is a perfect example of master craftsmanship and exquisite artistry.

Rolex watchIt is not everyday that one gets a chance to buy the best and the most exclusive model of the precious Rolex collection. This definitely sounds like a once in a lifetime opportunity. Officials at Rolex UK decided to offer this opportunity to a handful of individuals who are rich enough to afford these extremely luxurious watches.

One of the most rare Rolex watch was auctioned in a similar fashion. This timepiece was a part of the limited collection launched by the iconic watch company, Rolex itself during the 1950’s. This limited collection comprised only five watch pieces produced by Rolex all over the world.

The watch being discussed here is the last one, which was available in a collection from all over the world. The watch is a gent’s timepiece and is a product of every man’s dream of luxury. Apart from being a proud part of the antique, limited collection, another reason that makes this gent’s timepiece extremely desirable is the fact that it was a part of a collection of watches which were the first of their kind to display date, day replete with the phases of moon along with time.

Rolex watchThe phases of the moon are displayed on the “black” dial. The unusual design of the dial is in accordance with the age-old tradition of Rolex to design the most exquisite watches for mariners. The other four models of this limited collection have already been sold in different parts of the world. This watch was auctioned at NEC in Birmingham. Considering the exclusivity and admiration which Rolex watches command, the watch was auctioned at just the right place as NEC also played host to the first ever National Fine Art and Antiques Fair.

All Rolex watches come with a waiting period of at least two years before the watch can be owned by the wishful customer. So, loyal and millionaire fans of Rolex wouldn’t have minded shelling out extra in order to lay their hands on this rare collectible.

Stylish English Designer Elizabeth Lau Wears A Rolex

Elizabeth LauHip English fashion designer Elizabeth Lau wore only her designs and accoutrements at a recent fashion shoot, the only exception being the Rolex watch on her wrist. When Imogen Fox of The Guardian interviewed her in February of 2009, the young designer revealed a fascinating history behind what the writer described as a “posh watch.” It turns out the watch was given to Elizabeth Lau when she was at art school by an unknown foreign princess. In fact, the princess gave everyone in the class a Rolex watch for Christmas one year, and, as Elizabeth Lau recalled, “Everyone accepted them — it would have been rude not to.” Although Elizabeth Lau does not reveal which Rolex watch she was given and the picture from the photo shoot is too distant to make out the type, she does exclaim, “The teachers got ones with diamonds in. It sounds so OTT (over the top) that I am embarrassed to tell people.” Perhaps what is most intriguing about the comment is, despite the holiday spirit of the foreign princess being referred to as OTT, fashion designer Elizabeth Lau continues to wear the Rolex watch she received. Moreover, beyond just wearing the watch now and then, she chooses to wear the Rolex to a huge fashion shoot and interview with The Guardian about her own designs. Clearly, beyond the initial OTT embarrassment, fashion designer Elizabeth Lau believes her Rolex watch still to be ultra-hip and stylish.

Elizabth Lau DesignBorn and raised in London, Elizabeth Lau embodies the style, spirit and diversity of the city in her quirky approach to fashion. The brand is simply an extension of Elizabeth’s personality and her outlook on life and love. Her creations have often been described as being “happy”, “mignon” and “kawaii” by buyers and fans alike. Elizabeth’s aim is to dress women in her fun and feminine vision, but in a way that is relevant to a 21st century lifestyle. She designs with this in mind and has consistently designed easy to wear dresses, coats and knits which dress you up in an instant. Her signature attributes include surprise details known only to the wearer, hand finished embellishments, Liberty of London prints and love heart motifs. Elizabeth’s approach is fresh but unmistakably British in flavor and she has quietly gained a following amongst the London fashionistas including numerous fashion editors.

Lau, dressElizabeth Lau was launched out of her flat 3 years ago with a capsule collection of eight dresses. Since then, her line has grown steadily and is now stocked in choice boutiques in London, UK, Ireland and Hong Kong. Specializing in “dress up in an instant” dresses, coats and knits, the brand has a strong, quirky identity and is known for its feminine but individual take on fashion and unique details and embellishments.
In the last fashion season, Elizabeth Lau presented a collection filled with fun, love and laughter with a sassy, modish attitude. When asked to describe her own personal style in The Guardian Interview, Elizabeth Lau exclaimed: “I am a magpie and I don’t like doing one whole look. I used to buy real statement pieces in the past, but when I took them home I realized that I didn’t have anything else that matched them in my wardrobe. Now I end up wearing a lot of my own designs.” What remains most intriguing is that this self-described fashion magpie continues to prefer and to display the Rolex watch she was given as a surprise Christmas present over a decade ago by a foreign princess in art school. Ultimately, the key conclusion that must be drawn is the following: No matter what happens in the crazy, up-and-down world of fashion and design, a Rolex watch always will remain in style.

The Rolex Tower In Dubai: Architecture As Impressive As A Rolex Watch

Rolex TowerIn the summer of 2009, the Rolex Tower in Dubai will be completed and the architectural masterpiece will open. Since the cornerstone of the 63-storey Rolex Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road was laid by Patrick Heiniger, the renowned former chief executive officer of Rolex, the building will represent a lasting tribute to Heiniger’s years of inspired leadership. The building has a beautiful glass facade with the standard layered affair of ground floor retail space, offices and then a topping of 23 floors of residential apartments crowned with a few floors of penthouses. The Rolex Tower is designed in response to the street’s exuberance with a quiet urbanity to set the standard for new high-end development in Dubai and beyond.

Rolex Tower under constructionThe tower was designed by the famous firm of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, designers of Burj Dubai and many other notable structures. “Much like the brand name it proudly carries, the Rolex Tower will be an embodiment of perfection, setting new standards in taste, elegance and functionality,” explained a spokesperson for the developer. “The Rolex Tower will be an outstanding place to live, work, and shop. This slim, beautiful, glass monument will be Dubai’s new achievement in architectural elegance,” he added. The Rolex Tower is being built by Ahmad Seddiqi and Sons, a real estate developer and the exclusive retailer of Rolex’s premium watches in the region. Platinum Double Quickset PresidentHowever, when he laid the groundstone, Patrick Heineger clarified that Rolex’s involvement in the project is by name alone and the watchmaker did not participate in financing or designing the building. But the Rolex name is enough to provide the structure with the class and reputation for quality the builder’s desired and the grand building surely deserves.

There is a question that must be asked: If the Rolex Tower were a Rolex watch, which watch would it be? At Melrose Jewelers, there is a watch that matches both the elegance and the grandeur of the Rolex Tower. The Men’s Double Quickset Platinum Rolex Day Date President with the Custom Black Mother of Pearl Diamond Dial is an ideal mirror of the stunning achievement in design and construction represented by the Rolex Tower. This unique Rolex watch achieves both the height of luxury while maintaining the professional excellence expected. Like the grand tribute to Patrick Heineger’s leadership in the form of the Rolex Tower in Dubai, such a luxury wristwatch represents a perfect marriage of precision and quality.

Preparing For the Rolex 24 At Daytona, Danica Patrick Needs A Rolex Watch

Danica PatrickRacing superstar Danica Patrick has joined a long list of motorsports superstars that have signed up to compete in the 47th anniversary Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 24-25, 2009. The grueling 24-hour race demands the very best from the competitors if they are not only trying to win, but also even finish. As a trailblazer, Danica Patrick last season became the first woman to win an IndyCar Series race. Although she failed to finish the Rolex 24 in 2006, she is back after taking a year off and ready to go for the blue ribbon. With natural talent and instinctive daring, Danica has the inner qualities necessary to win. If only Danica had a Rolex on her wrist before the race, she might see how the precision timepiece reflects the qualities she tries to achieve on the speedway.

If Danica Patrick could be given a lead on a Rolex watch to acquire, which Rolex ladies watch should she get to aid her in her cause? Although many of the professional men’s Rolex watches like the GMT Master II or the Daytona would do just fine, Danica needs a watch that reflects her style and class both on the raceway and on the red carpet. Melrose Jewelers happens to have a watch in stock that would meet Danica’s needs. The Ladies 2T Rolex Datejust is a spectacular watch showcasing the stunning Submariner Blue Diamond Dial. Its Oyster bracelet offers a modern appearance and is quite eye-catching with the combination of glossy Stainless Steel and 18k Yellow Gold, reflecting Danica’s balance between professional sports and fashion. Lastly, the .7ct Beadset Diamond Bezel set in 18k White Gold surrounds the magnificent dial and adds to the already glamorous appearance of this masterpiece. Such an incredible watch matches the blue colors of racing while offering the professional perfection of a Rolex. With the added diamond, it provides the glamour that a star like Danica Patrick not only needs, but also demands.

Sebring 12 HourDanica competed in the Rolex 24 in 2006, but the team finished 50th after a mechanical breakdown. “I had such a good time,” said Patrick of her 2006 Rolex 24 start. “So many drivers come together for this event. Of course everyone wants to win and do well. But there’s such camaraderie at this. I’m just really grateful to come back to this team again. To be with a group of drivers like this, we have a great chance at winning this race.” Danica Patrick, who races with Andretti-Green Racing in the IndyCar Series, will spend this weekend’s test getting familiar with the Daytona Prototype again. She has plenty of memories from her lone 2006 start.

“There wasn’t a ton of running so it was hard to get a real feel of how the rhythm of the race goes and how it goes through the night and into the next day,” Danica said of her 2006 Rolex 24 experience, which cut short due to mechanical failures. “I’ll definitely be asking questions as we go along about that. I remember what it feels in the car and how it was around here and I think that will be able to carry over but also the car has improved too.” Hopefully, both the racing car and Danica’s team have improved because she deserves the opportunity to win the Rolex 24 and receive a Rolex watch as the prize for such a victory. Danica Patrick is a class act, and she would look perfect with a Rolex on her wrist.

A Bundle of Rolex Watches and Love Affairs for Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan RolexA question that must be asked is whether the famous and infamous Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan has more Rolex watches or more love affairs with both men and women? There is little question amid the multitude of voices in today’s popular culture that Lindsay Lohan is a talented performer. Recently, however, Lohan’s most dramatic and eye-catching performances have taken place in her so-called private life. Her supposed committed gay relationship with Samantha Ronson went nuclear in the Miami airport over the New Year holiday with the two young women viciously screaming at each other. The Los Angeles Times reported hysterics and drama to the point where a flight attendant on American Airlines asked if they would like to disembark. Later, after they arrived and returned to their home in the Hollywood Hills, neighbors reported more screaming and glasses shattering. It is lucky Lindsay was not wearing her Rolex Daytona because the luxury watch would make quite a projectile weapon if thrown and not worn.

Lindsay Lohan Multiple RolexIf Lindsay Lohan actually used her Rolex Daytona as a weapon, it most likely would have survived the impact. Rolex professional watches are known for their strength and endurance, even a gold and jeweled watch like Lindsay’s Daytona. Still, if Lindsay Lohan managed to actually damage her Rolex Daytona, she would have several more Rolex watches to choose from in her own personal collection. Lindsay Lohan tends to prefer wearing oversized Men’s Rolexes in both stainless steel and yellow gold. Yes, Lindsay is known for going through relationships these days faster than she checks in and out of rehabs. Beginning with Ronson, these relationships now include both women and men, which should continue in the future. Since Lindsay has been photographed in the past wearing more than one Rolex at a time and as many as three, there is no question that she loves the fashion and power that a Rolex watch represents in the popular culture. So does she have more Rolex watches than relationships, and is she willing to sacrifice her Rolex watches as projectile weapons whenever she breaks up with a lover?

Okay, more than a touch of irony is expressed in that last question. Hopefully, Lindsay will see the quality and precision reflected in each Rolex watch, and then attempt to mirror that quality and precision in her own life. In 2009, it is time for the talented performer to shift her performances away from her private life and return the drama and talent to her professional career. Lindsay Lohan’s love of Rolex watches reveals her inherent taste and respect for true quality. Now Lindsay has to learn to respect and love herself.

Zara Phillips, the Queen’s Granddaughter, is the New Face of Rolex

Realizing the unique connection between Rolex and Royalty, Zara Phillips, the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II of England, has signed a contract to be the new face of Rolex watches. The Rolex watch chosen for Zara Phillips to endorse is the classic Rolex Oyster Perpetual Lady-Datejust. An elite equestrian who attained the title of Eventing World Champion in 2006, Phillips will receive £100,000 pounds and three free watches to appear in advertising for the Swiss watchmakers. The first Rolex advertisement-featuring Phillips appeared in Vanity Fair, which is a further display of the great value placed by Rolex in the acquisition of such a high profile representative in the United Kingdom and beyond. The advertisement shows Zara Phillips with her horse Toytown who carried her to victory in the Eventing World Championships.

In order to illuminate the Rolex watches that Phillips has been chosen to endorse, here is a more in-depth examination. A description of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Lady-Datejust is as follows: Stainless steel case and bracelet. White dial. Date displays at 3 o’clock position. 18kt white gold bezel. Synthetic sapphire crystal. Hidden deployment clasp. Case diameter 26mm. 31-jewel chronometer automatic movement. Water resistant at 30 meters (100 feet). A description of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Lady Datejust Pearlmaster is as follows: Stainless steel case. 18kt yellow gold and stainless steel bracelet. Gold dial. Date displays at 3 o’clock position. 18kt yellow gold bezel. Synthetic sapphire crystal. Hidden deployment clasp. 31 jewel chronometer automatic movement.

Rolex has supported excellence in human endeavors for over eighty years, and many of their spokespeople have been champions in their respective sports. Zara Phillips provides a unique combination of Royal blood and athletic excellence to the Rolex stable. Zara was voted 2006 BBC Sports Personality of the Year by the British viewing public. What is truly fascinating in the story line is that Zara’s mother, Princess Anne, was voted BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 1971. Clearly, like the lineage of one great Rolex watch design to the next, Zara Phillips follows in her mother’s footsteps of athletic excellence. Zara was made a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2007 New Years Honours List for her services to equestrianism. Married to England rugby player Mike Tindall, Phillips has expanded her commercial activity since becoming a professional eventer to help meet the £500,000-a-year cost of maintaining seven horses. She receives no money from the civil list, but her mother, Princess Anne, gives her free accommodation. Imagine how proud the Queen must be to have her Granddaughter chosen to be the new face of Rolex watches.
