Rolex and Equestrian Events

Rolex GMT Master

A popular sport in every corner of the world, Equestrian Riding has been linked with Rolex for over half a century. The precision and accuracy of the world's top riders on the most skilled horses is reflected and exceeded by the ultimate precision and accuracy of Rolex watches; it is a natural inevitability that the two worlds would come together. The different Equestrian Riding events associated with Rolex include the following:

Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials

Started in 1961, this three day event allows the best riders to show their spirit and courage. It is also known as “a classic British Triathlon.” Like Equestrian Riding across the board, this event demands a perfect timekeeping device to keep record of the exact times of the riders. Rolex became the official sponsor in the year 2000 and continues to be so. Both Rolex and the Burghley Horse Trials are known for their precision in a quest to perform at exceptional levels.

Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials

Rolex GMT Master

A four star rated event, the competition takes place over a three day period in the month of May. Held in the Park of Badminton House, Gloucestershire, England, it started in 1949. Rolex is the “Official Timekeeper” of this event.

Rolex FEI World Cup Final

One of the most popular Equestrian events in the world, it shifted the focus to “jumping” in 1978. Later, jumping became popular for other equestrian events as well as “Dressage”, “Driving,” and “Eventing.” A series of continental leagues and competitions lead to this final event of the year where the season’s top rider is chosen and the award bestowed.

Rolex Kentucky 3-Day Event

A four star CCI event held at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, the competition offers the highest level of competition amongst the world's top horse riders. Rolex is the “Official Timekeeper” and the number one sponsor.

Rolex IJRC Top Ten Final

This is an event where the top ten riders, according to the official Rolex rankings, compete for the top place. Held at the Geneva Palexpo Hall, it began in the year 2001 at the initiative of the IJRC (International Jumping Rider's Club). This event receives wide media coverage with more than 17 television channels broadcasting the competition.

Spruce Meadows Masters

The first Masters tournament to be held at Spruce Meadows was in 1976. Today, this event attracts over 450,000 spectators annually. The tournament takes place in the six outdoor grass rings at Spruce Meadows and Rolex is, of course, the “Official Timekeeper.”

World Equestrian Games

Held every four years, the World Equestrian Games are known as the Olympic Games of the equine sporting world. Administered by the FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale), the games include eight FEI disciplines show jumping, vaulting, combined driving, dressage, endurance riding, eventing, reining, and paraequestrianism. The tournament lasts for 15 days as the world's top riders and their prized horses compete for the title. Every participating country sends a team comprising of the best equestrians in their respective fields. Since its onset, Rolex has been a sponsor of the event and, again, the “Official Timekeeper."
